WWII Era German Bakelite Flashlight, ZEILER 4640

ca.1931 WWII German Zeiler bakelite signal flashlight #M.4640 with changing green and red sliding glasses inside and leather strap on back side for attaching to the tunic or pocket buttons. German Industry markings inside.

.Measures 4 3/4 " x 2 3/4 " x 1 1/2 "

This is an ORIGINAL German 3rd Reich era flashlight which is marked DRGM (Deutsches Reich GebrauchsMuster or German Reich Registered Design)
The German Zeiler company produced these flashlights from 1933 to 1945. This specific one is the model 4640 and the bakelite version.
From the maker marks on the inside, I found out it was made by H. Römmler AG, Spremberg, Germany.
This flashlight was used by Wehrmacht, Waffen-SS and the Luftwaffe.
The leather flap was used to hook the flashlight to one of the tunic button to enable hands free use.
The colour filters still functions and has a battery inside.
