The fleece pullover was developed to provide The Marine Corps with a multi-purpose, lightweight/low bulk, moisture transport, and insulation layer for the upper torso. The fleece pullover can be used during both garrison and field duties in cool to cold weather conditions. It can be worn under the camouflage utilities, used as a sleep shirt in the sleeping bag, and as an optional/additional insulation layer for the ECWCS.
History / Summary
Polartec® 100 half-zip pullover has received a 97% approval rating by U.S. Marines in extensive cold weather field testing. This is the highest rating ever received for a piece of issued gear.
The Polartec® 100 half-zip pullover replaces three items of clothing in the current inventory, saving money while providing comfort, warmth, lightweight breathability, packability and versatility. The Polartec® 100 half-zip pullover has been fielded to U.S. Marines around the world.
