Red Army glass water flasks .
They were of different shapes and colors . Such flasks were produced more than 20 years : : from the early 1920s to the 1940s...

Glass flask of the Red Army ...
During the Civil War, the equipment of the old Russian Imperial Army was transferred to the supply of the Red Army. Including glass flasks, which eventually "served" in the new army for more than twenty years! For the first time, they officially appeared in the list of items of clothing allowance in 1922 and were intended for the command staff of combat units and all Red Army soldiers.
It is still unclear exactly from what moment they began to produce glass flasks of the "Soviet" model, which replaced the old RIA model. The only document known to date is the All-Union Standard for Glass Flasks (OST 4097), approved by the All-Union Committee for Standardization under the Labor and Defense Council on December 26, 1931 .... And later replaced by a new (and last) OST N 8823/1381 in 1936.
In December 1928, a glass jar cost only 1 ruble 40 kopecks!
According to the norms of clothing supply of the Red Army for peacetime in 1936, glass flasks were issued to privates and junior command personnel for 2 years. Including in the border guard for the entire service life. The command and command personnel of combat units, all categories of cavalry servicemen, horse artillery and cavalry units of other branches of the armed forces, the AT and the Armed Forces were issued aluminum flasks (the period of wearing and using - 10 years) This rule remained until the beginning of the 40s.

A glass flask was also supposed to be for ordinary junior command personnel of the city and rural militia. With the wording: horse units, convoy militiamen and for lagsborrv. The only category in the militia that was supposed to have an aluminum flask was the students of the RKM schools in photo No. 3 in the center - a glass royal flask. It is in photo No. 1, the third in the bottom row. The difference in shape from neighboring Soviet-style flasks is clearly visible.

To date, two manufacturers are known who marked their products with an embossed inscription (in whole or in abbreviated form) ... In the photo # 4 is a flask of the Urshelsky glass factory.
Photo № 5 - Konstantinovskiy mechanical bottle factory. "KMBZ". On the photo No. 6 and 7 there are carved types of corks. Black rubber trapezoidal - factory "statutory" ...

Dear readers, if you have anything to add, write: personal observations, recollections read, stories of veterans, etc. Any information is interesting and useful ...

There will be a separate publication about the cover for glass flasks.
